This area of Marysville, called Smokey Point, acquired its nickname from a 1950’s outdoor-barbecue restaurant the Smokey Point Café. Although the café (aptly named after the plume of smoke that rose from the restaurant) is no longer there, the community is thriving and was recently named one of the fastest growing areas in the country. The retail region connects the core shopping districts of Bellingham (to the north) and Seattle (to the south).

The Marketplace is at the heart of this regional shopping area, which includes retailers such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Hobby Lobby, Ulta Beauty, Party City, Bonefish Grill and Outback Steakhouse. With direct access from Interstate-5, The Marketplace is located at the main intersection of this retail corridor.
